The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I am just wondering if anyone can give me a figure. I want to know the amount of PRO cash awarded in ALL of the PDGA sanctioned events in the world in a given year.

This (link) is why I ask.

90% of those sports are on TV so if we come close to that we can justifiably potentially bring more money into the sport for all of our talented disc golfers.
Anyone? Chuck?
$8,000,962.13 thus far in "2010"
Thanks Pat! I think Fox Sports Detroit could make a lot of people happy by televising Amatuer Nationals and our two A-Tier Events. That would be FUN!!
last year $9,647,322.28 pdga sanctioned events.
So about as much as one Football player?
I wonder if those numbers in the chart include entry fees? I'm guessing those sports shown actually pay the people who run the events unlike most DG events. So those purses may only come from added cash from ticket sales, TV revenue and other ad sources. If we only look at added cash in our purses, I'm thinking we're still under $500K per year.
Thanks Chuck! I do wonder as well about the given chart. Our sport goes pretty much un-recognized and disprespected in some ways. The professional disc golfers in the PDGA are seriously talented athletes. It would be nice to see them get the respect and high regard, which they deserve and have earned, for their hard work over the years.
