Most trees can be thrown around. If you land in the middle of a Russian Olive bush you may have no shot (maybe not even a pitch out) and lose skin just getting to it.
Well our course in City Park, New Orleans has huge oak trees, very difficult getting around, I would roll it, but the roots are about 3 feet pertruding from the ground.
I think he means landing "in front of the tree" where the tree is behind you. If you can't take a stance, you may mark behind the tree (using the solid object relief rule) and then have to deal with the tree.
As I recall . . . can't you mark the lie and take a crazy stance and then hang on to the tree.

I mean: you can grip something behind you but not in front. Am I correct.

TYIA
I love it! it gives me more chances to hug a tree
I know i don't love it
i am confussed...do you mean your disc lands with a tree in front of it or a tree right behind your disc. either way if you learn how to throw a disc side arm it can help it these matters. also you don't have to kill the shot, check out your options and throw to a spot where you can make a good shot to get out of the hole with minimal danage to your srocecard.
I'd rather land in front of a tree than some of the GIANT sticker bushes we have on our course.
I bought the new Adirondack Chainsaw Discgolf Bag. No worries here!!!
Yes,it makes me focus
Where did my disc land? I'm confused now. If I land dead then I can't throw because I'm no longer breathing.
I guess if I am reading it that way it really wouldn't mater at that point, good point Jim. LOL
