Around here we seem to be having some serious issues with the local doubles leagues. Lots of people hating on each other, arguing, fighting online, renegade doubles leagues breaking off, etc.

So I figured it might be a good idea to post this, see if anyone else has come across this problem and if they have a solution.

List the different ways you guys play doubles leagues in your area. How much is entry, what is the % payout. How ace pools work. Pro am or random. Does the club keep a 'fee'? Is there a good way around that but to still raise $, such as a 50/50 ctp where it's optional and half goes to club, therefore no one can ***** about the club keeping 1$ or something.

24 Chains Crew @ Lake Shore Friday nights. Either Gabe, Ray, or myself head it up. We play dubs unless turnout is shy then we play a singles round. We're a smaller starting club so we have no entry fee, but we have a $60 ace pool already after just about 2 months ($1 buy in 60% pay out). We meet at 5:15PM by practice tee 5:30 tee off. 18 short format.
Wow things are different all over the country, vernacular too.

In Atlanta we have random draw dubs $15 for everyone. $10 to payout $1 to course $1 to ace pot and $1 ea. to three different ctps.

Some courses play $13 with less going to payout. We really like at least 3 ctp's for each tourny, a dollar to ace fund and a dollar to the course. With 15-20 showing up thats a dollar from everyone. Get a ctp and boom you cashed! Odd man out plays odd-dog (Cali in other areas) where he/she has one mulligan per hole.

Payout is about 40% of field, maybe a little less. It's usually 3-5 groups for dubs.

We never have deals for members and we don't hinder non-members with extra fees because its free to join RDGC. With the popularity of the course the $1 from everyone for dubs and singles pays for alot!!!

We have singles every mon. too. $10 am $20 pro w/ same 3 $1 ctp's $1 ace $1 course.

Everyone fights for the same CTP's.
