The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
I've been playing for a few months and each game I seem to improve a little here and there. However, the one problem I seem to have EVERY SINGLE GAME, is that my distance drives are always too high. No matter what I've tried so far, I always finish with my back leg bent, chest pointing up and the disc simply wasting energy going up, when it could just go straight.
Anyone else have this same issue? Or have any suggestions?
I'm thinking I should try to start from scratch and try driving without even stepping and work my way up again but I'm open to any and all tips.
Thanks!!

The idea is that you'll pull through and bring your arm down back to a better level, eliminating the loft created from the upward angle. I also seem to have better shots when I slow my x step down and focus on a smooth release.
Try throw "Tit to Tit" not "Hip to Tit".
Basically, throw it level.

Permalink Reply by Jayzer MAAANN on November 20, 2011 at 2:16am you should try leaning over your shot on the way out. It tends to put you at a bit of a hyzer
but from what I've heard and experienced the pendulum motion gives you more power as well.

Weather you are throwing forehand or backhand, try to get your chin directly over your front foot as you are bringing the disc accross your body. If your head is in the correct position, then your body will follow. This will also allow you to follow through as your weight is transfered onto your front foot. The follow through is key in a smooth, fluid, flat throw...

Permalink Reply by Corndawg13 on November 21, 2011 at 8:44am It could also be that the Nuke is too much disc for you right now, try a surge or surge ss
Permalink Reply by Jeff Nichols on November 21, 2011 at 11:24am The Surge SS was my bread and Butta for a long time. AWESOME Disc...
