Dying an APX Swirl

I have two APX swirls that I've been useing for quite a while now. I'm pretty much done with the Pink/Purple color of the disc. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a disc i use a few times a round, but I use it a couple times a hole. Honestly, I just really think pink is a shitty color.
Anyway, I'm looking to dye these two discs black. Does anyone have any suggestions about the easiest way to do this? Any info would be very helpful. Thanks!!

I honestly wouldn't try dying the disc. If it is the same or similar plastic as the Soft Banger or D plastic, the dye wont take very well. I used scarlet dye on a white D drone and now have a feminine Pink, of the Soft Banger it used to be white, now after trying dark green it is a concrete grey color.

The dying process in itself isn't complicated if you are doing just one color. Just get a pan that is wide and deep enough for your disc to fit in, put in the dye you want to use. Bring up some water just under a boil and then pour it into the pan with your dye in it. Then put on a latex glove or some other rubber glove so the dye doesn't get on you. Then place the disc in the dye water. Check on the disc every once in a awhile to see if it is a dark or bright as you want it. When the desired color is reached rinse off the disc with warm water over the pan, and then place the disc in a sink full of cold water to hep the dye set in the plastic.

After this is done, you might want to take a damp paper towel and wipe the disc off because it sometimes has some dye residue on the surface and some of the dye will bleed out a little.

it depends on the type of plastic, i am not that familiar with the APX, if it is like Innova Pro plastic it may be hard to get it BLACK, and I mean a true black. Now if the the APX is more like STAR plastic you can get those a good dark BLACK. I would just cut a nice stencil to accent the middle of the disc stick it on and drop it in some black dye warmed up luke warm and let em sit for half a hour and see what happens

Given the texture of the plastic, i would guess that it's extremely porous and it would soak up the dye like a dry sponge being dipped into water. I'm rather curious of the outcome. Let us know, or better yet post some before and after pics.

My bet is an APX Swirl dyed black will come out looking like mud or worse.

Pink is the best single color for a golf disc because it is the easiest to find. Mud has to be one of the worst colors. I think you could step on a mud colored disc and still not find it.

I would love a bag full of bright pink discs.

In my opinion I wouldnt dye it, I agree with Hero that they seem very porous but I agree with what Mark Ellis said. I dont think the color will come out the way you are hoping. Good Luck if you do but honestly the swirl is what makes it unique. If your getting crap for the pink and purple can a 50 footer and shut them up
