The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Does anyone know how to dye discs? I hear of guys talking about it and showing off work but when I ask all they do is start talking about their artwork again. Do disc dyers live by a strict code of secrecy or what? Im really just curious if its something that can be done a curious disc golfer with some extra time and discs.

check out the club We're Dyeing Here, on this site. Otherwise just google "dyeing discs" and you'll find tons of resources. I have yet to try it myself, but the method seems cheap, and the results yielded by others look very nice.

Hey if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them the best I can.

The step by step instructions in the were dying here club is excellent.

Dye it up!
How long do home dye jobs last before they start to fade or blur? Is there anything I can do to prolong the life of a fine line dye?

look under disc artwork...

there are video tutorials...

It's not hard at all.... just be sure to take you time and get a nice design...

I've seen some of Hardcore's dyes... they are awsome.... check my pics for some of my dyes and let us know if you have ?'s.

If I am not mistaken I think Hardcore uses the Contact paper method, as do I. Works fine for us... sign vinyl is supposed to be better but Wal-Mart carries the contact paper for like $5.
I have some pics of discs I've dyed on my page here. There's no code of secrecy anymore. I figure, you never know when you'll be the one to have handed Michaelangelo a brush, you know?

acetone, rit powder dye mixed. draw youe design with elmers glue, let it dry, splash on the dye mixture (should be grainy), let it sit fo about a minute. rinse off (preferably outdoors) and peel off elmers glue. got a badass Eye of Horus dye on my pro wraith for my first time.
Nice that was a good video i might try dying myself
