We wanted to get you all some information about a great new program involving the Educational Disc Golf Experience and growing the future of the sport. At the beginning of this year, the Educational Disc Golf Experience created a new program called the EDGE Tournament Charity Program (EDGE TCP). The goal is to link up with disc golf tournaments as their official charity and raise funds and awareness in growing the future of the sport in that area.
As the season draws to a close the EDGE TCP has had 55 participating tournaments nationwide that raised over $10,000 for the future of disc golf. Any tournament can be apart of this ground breaking program and there are many benefits for the tournament and tournament director. There is detailed information on the EDGE website about the EDGE TCP, but the basic premise is that 2/3 of the money contributed gets earmarked for grants and disc golf education within the state from which the contribution came from. What sponsors don't want to be involved with a 501c3 charity that benefits youth, schools, communities and health? The EDGE TCP has given out almost $6,000 in grants and equipment donations within this first year of the program.
Talk to your local TD's and get them involved. Better yet, run a tournament yourself!
