Probably just molded up funny, like the Z clones.
I thought the C2 was the older model?
It is. Discraft also axed it awhile back, so I doubt it is the same.
That's odd now that it's in 4 plastics. I love Discraft, though one thing I'll say is they discontinue too many models. I get nervous that I'll find a disc I love and a year or two later it will be discontinued.

That's crazy though. I heard the Cyclone used to be massively popular, like Buzzz popular. I have a ESP Cyclone coming, it should get here today :).
I'm hoping it will be my new fairway driver. It's nice to have that on many holes that Flash's, Surge's overdrive and one's that are just out of reach of Midranges. Last year is was just Putters, Midrange, and Putters for me. This season I tried a few fairway driver's already and noticed how valuable they are to my game.
The Cyclone was the disc!! The only disc to have as a driver...it was cutting edge bad ass....not sure what happened??? lol!!!

I think the time line for the evolution of Cyclone and it's counterparts were...first the Cyclone, then the Typhoon, then the X-clone followed by the Cyclone 2. The 2 and X may have been at the same time....long time ago...and too many lost brain cells.
The cyclone and the maurader were the two best drivers I have ever owned. They are more than adequate as drivers at my home course where most holes avg under 300. I still over shoot the holes using a cyclone. I don't think I would get an esp one if it is different as you described, its a pain when you get a familiar disc in a different plastic and its nothing like what you hoped it would be. I use a z cyclone now but I still think the older ones were the best.
It's a great disc..I won the one disc challenge with it, -8. Beats my league average on the course with my whole bag of discs. I can throw it on any line backhand or sidearm, and push 400'.
Most of the old gaurd were upset when they changed the mold and plastic to what you see today. They swore by the old Cyclone.
really, that is to bad I didnt know the mold had changed. when I started playing discraft was big here in tulsa, oklahoma now Its harder to find and I have 2 t birds, and a jls for those type of shots but ever since I heard esp cyclone Ive been about to order one. but I was thinking it would be like my old cyclones is this not the case from what im hearing it is a new disc now?
I have several cyclones. Two are 1st run Cyclone 2's, one's a "Cactus" Cyclone, and several more current one's. The "2's" and the Cactus appear to be of the same mold, but they are far diff than the new ones that I have. First, the older models have a much taller dome. Second, the bevel's are not even close IMO. On the newer one's the bevel and rim are "longer", deeper, and the angle is not as steep as the "2". Now this is just and eyeball eval of the discs. The last thing is the plastic. The Cactus appears to be "Z" plastic, but the "2's" remind me of a very chalky DX. Could just be left over powder from the molding process? not sure though.
