I've noticed some people on this page refer to flat top discs verses (I guess) normal discs.  For example someone asked if the dx roc was a flat top?  Do disc manufactures do this, or maybe I'm way off base?  Basically what I am wondering is, do manufactures make a particular disc normally and then some with a flatter top?  Thanks for the input.

yes they do, well Rocs any ways, theres diffrent molds from like rancho or dan marino molds, and innova put out the true FLAT-TOP rocs not too long ago
Not so , in regards to ROC's  I believe there was a particular press that applied the multi color stamp which led to the CHING Roc being made flatter than normal. I think alot has to do with the plastics being used in regards to regular discs.
CHING ROC???
yeah but the dan marino molds are domey...the ranchos are kinda flat....and ontarios are kinda in the middle...mold makes a big difference...and yes the stamp that goes on the disc can also make the disc flat

I'm with Mark with his comment on Ching Rocs.  All the Ching Rocs I have are really flat.  I also have several of the FT Rocs.  They are hot stamped, but not full color.  They all had a factory(?) sticker on back that say's FT Roc on it.  From the one's I have the Ching's have all been flatter then any of the FT Rocs.

Also I refer to some of my discs as flat tops. for example some of my wraiths.  I have noticed that alot of the newer Star molds with Ken Climo on them are very flat.  However these are not labeled as flat tops.

You're right about the press, but Innova does use it for select clubs and tournaments (to make them flat-top rocs).  The Springfield  DGC had them last year... maybe they still do.
the dan marino mold, now thats got to be a rare disc!
I heard it comes with a pair of Isotoner gloves , laces out !

Actually I think the Dan Marino Mold is a skin condition similar to jock rash.

The dan marino mold is one of the best, but expect it to choke when the big game is on the line.
the dan marino mold is second all time in yards thrown
The roc is not a flat top disc.  The X buzzz is a flat top disc, I'm assuming the rest are also.
