Does anybody really care in our growth sport?
The DPS Logo has been Stolen (without permission 4 times this year alone) representing clubs organizations and businesses alike. Is it flattery or stealing?

Well I say Just do it all the time but doesn't nike have that slogan trademarked?
to answer your question... it is neither. What it is is ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, i'm sure you know being a former art student that that staement covers a lot of ground and loopholes alot of copyrights. Nothing you can do about it that will amount to anything, you can take it however you want but im sure whoever did it wasn't intentionally ripping you off.
UH BOOOO. Ha, Im sure people weren't trying to steal from you man. They just dig the slogan; that has apparently been around for a long time. I don't understand why its bother some though. You made a buck and "helped" the sport some how...? Unfortunately I won't be purchasing any of your products now. UH BOOOOO
I am pretty sure it is Flattery, Norbert.

If nothing else, if it is a single disc then the person who dyed it probably has the right to do a one of a kind with some artistic flair - much like the way some music gets mixed nowadays.

The legal discussion here, by everyone, is mixing elements of patent, trademark, and copyright. Personally, I think a slogan falls under Trademark law. And my guess is that it would be tough to get a full trademark authorized on such a generic phrase, although I think you could do a "registration" of a trademark fairly easily. (It took me over a year and several thousand dollars to get a trademark registered for "Campus Sustainability Day." Shees!)

Anyway, I am closing this discussion as it is getting tense and causing people to be harsher with each other than I will allow in DGRUS. Remember, everyone, Rule #1: Behave as though everyone in here is your friend!

I will shortly, remove this thread entirely but wanted to explain why first.
