The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

So the other day I shanked a drive really bad and it landed in the pond that is virtually 90 degrees from the tee pad. It was really weird tho because i look out there and i see it floating!! it was amazing it is a champ boss that is at least 170. I dont get how it floated but it was so awesome. I stripped down to my boxers and dove in after it lol. i think it must have got an air bubble in the dome of the disc. I was so happy tho its a boss that i've had for at least 2 years. Its broken in so perfectly.

Great Recovery.
We have Gators here.
Takes a special man to swim out and save his Boss!

This picture is from Taylor Lake Park, an 18 hole course just 20 minutes from the Worlds Largest Disc Golf Store!
If the disc lands properly on either the top or bottom it will float. The smallest wave will sink it though.
yeah i think i would cut my losses in that water.
I am not even sure I would throw there at all. So if it lands near the gator do you take that as an unplayable lie.
I had this happen to me with a memorial Nuke that I bought from Ben Calhoun. I threw it on hole two at Downriver, which has a 75 foot embankment/cliff that drops down to the Spokane river. I landed right in the middle of the fairway, but at that time the entire course was covered in a sheet of thick ice. The Nuke then did what Nukes do best; it took a huge skip (at least 100' just to the edge of the embankment), then proceeded to roll down the ridge. By the time I got to the bottom, it was floating 10' out. By the time I got a 10' stick, it was 20' out. At that point, it was mere feet away from the current so I decided to get desperate and try and reverse it's course with rocks. It made it about halfway back before the mini waves caused it to roll over and sink...... it's all good though, it's not like they are selling for $50 on ebay or anything :(
Only $50! were, were....OK I'm back. Jones'in for plastic, that's all...shwoooo. Not sure it would have helped in this situation, but a Golden retriever was the best $25 I've ever spent. I've pulled quite a few discs out of thier watery grave.
Yes , If a disc lands just right on water , it will float !!!
so i was playing today and it was rather windy and i threw the boss and it went out over the pond and just never came back left and got a nice skip and ended up about 7 feet from the shore. Bet you can't guess what i did...
Dropped Trou and went in after it?
yes sirr
Have to dissagree about the wave, my buddy tossed one in the middle of a bayou yesterday. It was a brand new Nuke 173 the wind was so stong it was pushed by waves back to the shore with the dome facing up. Surfing rules.
