The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

For any players interested a forehand driving lesson is being offered on Sunday, January 17th at 10am at the Kensington Metropark disc golf course in Milford, Michigan. Following the lesson there is a $5 Pro/Am best shot doubles league available.

I was recently contacted by a player requesting some help withe forehand drives so we set up this lesson. Feel free to join us. There is no expense for the lesson but there is an entrance fee for the park ($4 per car?) and a $2 course fee per player.

I'll see what I can do to get up there. I do have plans as it is but I'll see what I can do. After last Tuesday I think I need all the help I can get!
Will you be wearing gloves?
Hey there Mark!

I'm sure disc golfers all over the beautiful city of San Antonio would love to attend one of your clinics. Heck I'll even put you up for the weekend and buy you a frosty beverage or two.

Sound good?
Hey Mark. This sounds great. I'll be there and may have someone with me. Thanks for letting us know.
I will let my friends in Michigan know.
Before the Best Shot Doubles Championships we ran a Ken Climo Clinic for about an hour.
He gave out instructions on Grip, Driving and putting that helped a bunch of players!!!
There is so much to learn about Disc Golf that if you can find a veteran and pick their brain a little, you will shave off YEARS of learning and step onto the FAST TRACK.
Get out to Kensington and LISTEN to what Mark Ellis has to say...the little light bulb over your head will Shine Brighter!

Newest update: There just might be a video crew in attendance for the forehand lesson.

And to answer some of the inquiries:

From Steve Belliveau: Will you be wearing gloves?

No way. I will be wearing mittens. Gloves suck. But we have this clever trick we figured out after playing in cold weather for a few decades but you already what that trick is.

From Rubberband Man: Mark,
Are you coming to Arizona for the Memorial? If so, I could use some pointers on my forehand shots as well.

Not planning to at the moment. At last year's Memorial I was the poster child for demonstrating forehand drives landing unerringly into the OB water. If that really was water.

From Jeff Bridwell: I'm sure disc golfers all over the beautiful city of San Antonio would love to attend one of your clinics. Heck I'll even put you up for the weekend and buy you a frosty beverage or two.

Excellent! I'm negotiating with my sponsor to move the entire clinic to San Antonio, players and all. We would all truly appreciate if you install a few kegs of microbrew IPA for our round-the-clock needs. Keep in mind we can only stay for a few months. Unless your wife is a really good cook.

From Disc-O Golf, featuring his Ken Climo clinic:

From the looks of it Ken is a bit skeptical of whatever that guy is saying. Seriously, look at the photo carefully.

Here is my best guess what the guy just said, " I'm telling you, Mr. Climo, if I release the disc at this here angle, it will roll over 400 feet then do two full rotations around the basket before finishing as a leaner, pretty much every time."

Of course, I might be wrong.

Nice job setting up the Climo Clinic. I would pay to attend it.
I am going to do my best to show up, I,ve only been playing on Saturdays , because of the snow. I really need help with my mid and putter for hand .I had a lot of fun the last time I played with ya, even got Ace #11 at Kens. Hope I can make it Sunday.
I'll be there and might be bringing some of the Lansing crew with me.
Funny you should mention the IPA as my better half bought me a home brewing kit for Christmas and I have six gallons fermenting as I type this. HAHAHA. It should be ready by Super Bowl! Go Cowboys!!!
Thanks to Mark Ellis, Marnie White, Critter Bill and Discraft for a fun morning and some good times!
Thanks to all. An absolutely great morning. I'm looking forward to getting out and working with the new (to me) grip.

Mark, I'm always willing to be the example of what not to do. Feel free to call.
This morning was a blast. Wished I coulda brought my avatar with me tho. :D
