I recently bought 179 Opto and 173 GL Fuses and have a 179 Mako I have used for over a year. I havent been able to get out in this ICE and toss the Fuse yet.

They sound like they have similar uses... What is the difference in the two and which do you prefer and why?

I haven't tried the Fuse - but I love the Mako because it holds any line I start it on. I really like it for anny upshots because it stays on the line and doesn't finish back to the left (RHBH).
The Fuse may be a bit more stable. I played with the Opto and GL. They took a pretty good pull with some hyzer and flew straight to turnover with no fade back. I was looking for a good turnover disc, but the Panther still beat them out (for me). So it may come down to if you like small diameter or large diameter discs. Also you might get more distance with your Mako, that's another thing I didn't like about them.
Mako = Greatness
