The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
Is there something you need to do to these discs to see them at night? Heard something about a blacklight? Feel kinda dumb about this.

Glow discs only need light.
Most people buy a "Black Light" flash light.
I play alot of Night Golf.
But I like my regular discs, so instead of paying more money for "Glow Discs",
I glow up my regular discs.
First I place clear tape underneath my disc.
Second, I take the juice from glow sticks and put it on tissue paper.
Third, I take that paper and place it on the tape.
Final phase, taking another piece of tape and covering the "Glow Dot".
Yellow works good, But Green and Blue works best.
That way, I do not have to worry about having a black light or special types of discs.
Oh I forgot.
Some people buy lights and tape them to their discs.

Jeffrey, I thought the thing with these glo discs is that there is no need to tape lites to them.
Permalink Reply by Southpaw_517 on March 8, 2013 at 8:00pm They seem to work best with a UV flashlight. All you need to do is hold it up close to the disc and swirl it around a few times and your good. You can find various ones on ebay, the more wattage the better. I would only use them during a new moon on a rural course though. The course we play glow at normally is within the city limits, so everyone uses LEDs. Glo plastic does work to a point but it seems like you have to charge them every throw, at least with the light that I use.
Southpaw, I bought a low wattage LED, and the disc lit up for one throw. But I think you're right, and I appreciate the info.
Permalink Reply by Ron Suir on March 8, 2013 at 8:43pm I've heard of people using a camera flash to "charge" the disc but I've never tried it.. my only glow disc is an unthrown valk with Paul McBeth's auto on it. yeah not gonna throw that
Permalink Reply by Donny Olow on March 9, 2013 at 2:30pm Years ago , I bought from Ed Headrick of DGA , this little triangle shaped device with Chrome top and sides, where you put your Disc inside and it has a camera flash type of device attached. Once it is closed , you push the button and your Disc comes out Glowing on Both the Top and Bottom. Very Cool !!! Glows for like about 20 minutes.
I have also tried Black lights , Camera Flash ( Works Great ) and Flashlights !
