Looking to hear feedback thus far on the Groove!!!

I'm interested in hearing how it compares to the Boss! I personally love the Boss, but it seems my arm needs it to be throwing into a slight headwind for my best results.

I guess I am hoping it is indeed..less stable!

It's sweet. Not as fast as the Boss but it still gets out there in a hurry; rim similar to a Monarch--also has the same glide or float; as for stability, I've been using this as a BH disc (I don't throw too many BH) and it flips up nice when released with hyzer; So, with that caveat, big throwers will be able to flip it easily...I think?
Still have not thrown it yet !!!! Looking forward next week !!!!
I'm pretty disappointed in my 172 groove seems slow and brick like .... more overstable than my 172 boss(X-out). If you have a weinie "just hitting 300' " arm like me I'd stick with wraiths or maybe a Z surge ss(my discraft hatin little brother even gave the surge ss an fairly enthusiastic "that disc is alright") I'm stoked to hear some of you all are ripping your grooves a mile I just got a little to into the "understable" boss idea and kinda forgot how fast that thing has gotta be movin to get it to understable
threw mine for the first time today, loved the thing, its the long (350+) straight-turnover driver i've been looking for. i threw it about 380 without even trying
More overstable than expected. Threw it a few times- got a 350' straight drive off a pure ice pad while slipping, and a 400' hyzer with it. Easier to control and grip than Boss, but don't see the massive distance potential, more of a control disc.
threw a few 168's (saving the 174 as a trading disc)
Somewhat less stable than the first run boss (haven't thrown the 2nd runs) but not much...kinda like my broken in star destroyer's flight path. Felt great going into a headwind. I find it is also like the boss in that it has a small window of hand positions that allow for the disc to really take off....very technical discs....
Better yet, I picked up a valk the at the same time and can rip that thing just as far using less effort....but not into a a head wind ....
I love the Groove! It is more stable than I expected but the distance is sick.
played two rounds with mine & no its not become my go to driver, but still a good driver for us less than 300 foot throwers
I threw my 166 champ groove some more this time realizing that it would fly wraith like not roadrunner like and it performed pretty well, like a worn in destroyer as someone else has already mentioned. I also got two of the eco star grooves at 170 (the lightest avalable in that plastic) as I heard they were less overstable and had more glide but I did not notice any difference in stability or glide it just felt heavy to me.
I got two grooves when they came out and have played with them about 8 rounds since purchase: my assessment is that the disc is just a tad too understable for my forehand. I have to be careful with this one or Ill turn it over. Still a great disc and has its use when needed, but the flight pattern isnt something I will use consistently. Ill still pull the Xcal and the Boss for most of my drives.
I have a similiar experience, though I have thrown it backhand and sidearm, it's okay sidearm, though I find ALL my other drivers out drive it. Backhand it's very ackward to hold (and I have bigger hands then most). Sidearm and backhand I maxed about 300ft (I was like what the fuck?).

It seemed to be more overstable then it said, I'm at high elevation so ALL discs are more overstable, but I'm used to that and throw pletty overstable and stable discs, but I can get WAY more distance with my Force or Pulse, I don't know if it's cause it's a domey one. It's a First Run, 170g. Mine just seems to be too overstable for my backhand and not overstable enough for my sidearm.

So basically for me it went fast, fast to the ground. Backhand to hold rightway (with thumb on top of your first finger placement) you hand seems to be wwwaaayyyy to much towards the center of the disc (loss of power) or you have to put the thumb on the rim where you get more power, but control sucks then cause grab is off balance. I find with my sidearm it turnsover too easy for me making hard to control

I've been seriously thinking about selling or trading mine. I have a Star Wraith coming to see if it will out drive my Pulse and Force (maxing out just under 400ft with those sidearm), if it does alright I'll get a Star Destroyer too.

well i got mine this afternoon, its a 170g champion, its pretty flat topped, not domey, i took it out to the backyard and let it rip along with my 1st run boss, cfr excalibur, and star excalibur, all these discs are either new or pretty new, i drove them backhand four times and the results were pretty much the same each time, i was honestly surprised in that i found that the groove was probably my shortest shot out of the four ! seriously ! i was shocked, the cfr excalibur was the next farthest ( this cfr excalibur is like really flat topped, and over stable ) then the star excalibur and the boss, which on all four drives ended up 20 feet farther out on average than the groove and the cfr excalibur. so i found mine to be, well more stable than my boss and unfortunately not as long as either my champion boss or star excalibur.

now i am not saying its useless or anything, i really was hoping this disc was going to be as described, a fast less stable boss, but hey, after all it was just four practice drives in my backyard, which is only around 250 feet long, so i cant crank on it as hard as i would on the course, for fear of putting it threw my neighbors window for a hole in one ! so i might not have been generating enough snap to get it to turn over and anhyzer or hold a glide line like others suggested it did, but man it sure did come back hard at the end.

i am a 50 50 forehand and backhand driver, i am equally comfortably using both, and i didn't get to try it forehand yet, so it will be interesting to see how it fly's with a forehand drive, because i personally don't like throwing the boss forehand because it will flip over to easy, were the extra stability of the groove, combined with the fast speed rating it has, might make it an awesome forehand disc, it just might not be my longest backhand driver in my bag.

i am curious to see how others of you find this disc to be, and are yours kinda flat topped or domey ?
Star Groove = Yes!
Champ Groove = NO!
