ya , what he said
You must be able to throw the occasional good shot before you can consistently throw the good shot. You must be able to throw the occasional superb shot before you can consistently throw the superb shot.

Ok, now the bad news. What you thought was a superb shot (and was indeed superb considering your skill set) actually is nothing special compared to what the big boys can do. So go back to the drawing board, break down your form, improve your power and control them go back to the first paragraph and do it again at a higher level.

Brilliance takes a while. Glimpsing brilliance is a good start. Don't get discouraged. Keep up the good fight. Keep striving to get better. One day you may rub shoulders with the great and mighty. One day you may be among the great and mighty.

Someone is going to be in the club of the great and mighty. Why not you?
i hear the same advice from pros over and over " go to an empty field and throw lots" this is great advice i think. i would also like to add playing catch with your putter. when your buddy is standing 100' away, how often do you miss? not much i think.
ahhhh, the mind game. A strong mind can focus on what comes next, not what just happened. If you mess up and bogie, think aheadto a hole where you can make up that stroke. Anger on cause confussion in the mind and clouds ones judgement resulting in un-necessary risk taking and poor results. Relax, and think, I can work that off. What a fun day I am having out here doing a sport I love. Relax, roll with life.
try "golf is not a game of perfect" by dr bob rotella.
Watch the disc fly. See each shot as what it is, a disc in flight. It is a beautiful thing. Mr. Ellis makes some good points, but my philosophy is forget about the shot you just threw and don't think about the next hole. Get down to the simplicity of the flight of the disc. Have fun and get off the roller coaster ride of emotions.
Dr. Bob has alot of great thoughts to the game! Especially his eight process goals, however if you want to get serious about your training then take a look at Patrick Cohn's "Peak Performance Golf". He also uses process goals but puts it all into perspective with training excersise for your body and mind. He also helps you make an actual schedule that will enable you to achieve those goals!
Another great book is "Think Like Tiger" by John Andrisani. It's all about Tiger's mental game!

Try letting go your thoughts and concentrate on moving forward.
Play your game, not other people's game.
