Help disc's being lost

ok so me and my dad love to play togther but we live where the course has a lot of water so discs being lost is the norm when you chose not to play it safe.  Lately my dad hs been loosing a lot of discs because his throwing is inconsistant and when i give him a tip he gets frustrated because it does not work the first time around, but it would help keep him dry.  He is really conpetative so he like to score better every round, but it has gotten to the point that he goes for it every hole and loses discs because he cant control the disc and its's just not the right time to do it.  so what can I tell him to make him believe that he can score just as good just laying up every once in a while.    .

I would tell him to play a round how he wants with all of the penalty strokes. Than play a safe round go around o.b. If he scores better laying up I think he will have a new outlook on the game.

maybe not tee off with a driver but a midrange,then let him have an approach shot with a driver,and a midrange so he can gage

Sometimes its better to lay up and take the par rather than going for the Bird, and coming out with a Bogey due to penalty strokes.

Granted, I can't throw fh, but I find most ob's favor fh or bh. Take a minute to plan shots as oppose to just driving as far as possible.

Get him to play a round with a rattler or frisbee. It will only go where he throws if he learns to control that theres no reason he couldn't throw a driver accurately.

just get him to get it in the hole every time, or better yet, bring a pair of waders. he'll make up his loss of discs with them

id say unless your dad has money, find a different course or skip those holes.

play him with just your putters. After a few rounds of putter golf,his(your) touch will improve.
