The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
I will start off by saying I live in Springfield, Missouri. I recently emailed the director of the park board telling them that along with myself I had many other people willing to volunteer our time into getting pads put into a couple of the parks in town along with other tasks. I got a response back with in a couple of days. The fella that responed to my email was named Bob, and he said he would like to talk with me more about what we can do and asked for my phone number. I sent him another email with my phone number, the days I was able to talk with him and volunteer, and told him that some of the local disc golfers owned a concrete company and would donate the concrete and time to put the pads in they just need the ok and when they should do it. Well that was over two months ago, I have emailed him back two more times and called his office once leaving him a message with my number were he could reach me. Nothing.. Nothing has happened, and I am tried of sitting around while every other city has huge awesome courses with great teepads and baskets, etc. I dont know what else to do, I am reaching out to you guys in hopes that someone can give me an idea. I was SPFG Disc golf to become something. I'd like to have 30, 40, 50 people out to leauge, not 12. Thanks for your time in reading this post and any ideas would be much appreciated.
PS. We have three courses inside the city of spfd, one of which I believe is the second oldest course in the country. Oakgrove. Its the only one with huge nice teepads, our other two longer and harder courses have three mini teepads about 3 foot by 3 foot square. Yes only three of the 48 holes I am talking about has mini teepads, its like a bad joke.
