Up here in Hibbing ,Minnesota we played yesterday when the temp was -8 without the wind-chill
we have about 10" of snow on our course, we all follow in a line and make straight lines to our discs
so we do not churn up to many tracks.
Wear good boots for snow, avoid hyzers and especially knife shots. A friend of mine tapes a piece of yarn to his discs so he can find the buried ones. A glove with the fingers cut out can be helpful as well.
I am coping quite well as it was damn near 85 on Saturday, it's hard to cope with that.
Although, yesterday it was 48 with about 25mph wind so it felt like 35, but even so, layered up and threw two rounds.
Still coping in Texas. Y'all come on down.
I live in Mt. Plesant as well and played several times last week on the CMU course, it was great.
We also play random partner doubles for $5 (+$1 for ace pool) every Saturday at noon, this past Sat. I was able to play in a hooded sweatshirt.
Get some cheap hand warmers, put on some boots and layers and come join us!
When the snow is deep we tape ribbons to the discs but right now we don't even need 'em (until we get another few inches of fresh snow).
Let me know if you need and more info.
In the spring, summer, fall there are Tuesday doubles @ 6:00 as well.
Bad post there my friend... you should have known everyone is going to dog on you for not playing in the cold ass weather... I lived in Daytona Beach for the last 5 years and just moved to New Jersey... I still play even though it feels like the Arctic to me... the hand warmers do help... layers are the only way to go... take some beer too... it'll make ya feel better...
