I can't ! I hate winter, I need some disc golfing, and our local course is wide open so it's buried in snow.

What can I do ?

When your course makes a better snow mobile race track for the winter X games, what should you do. Well in North Dakota you play Sno Mo Golf. You and your bestest buddy or pal, some of you might even have girls that are friends, but I digress ride your snowmobile towards the basket as fast as you can. The person on the back of the snowmobile tries to put the disc in the basket. Now the trick is to get the disc out of the basket without stalling the sled in the deep snow. To those of you that dont know this, snowmobiles get stuck in the snow.
We played league in 3ft of snow and wind. Thats how we deal with winter. We go discin'. Seriously gaitors for the legs can keep snow out of your shoes if your not wearing your snow boots. Use bright discs. Layer up. Some tape ribbons to the center of their flight plates to find discs. Nice gloves. Keep groups larger (3-4) to assist in finding discs. Smart wool socks are great on the feet. Have fun.
here in north texas, when it gets below about 40 or 45 you can have the park mostly to yourself. it is also pretty empty when it is over 100.
just checked the forecast, 34 tonight, 70 tomorrow. i guess the park will be full
I drink.... alot.
I sleep alot !!!!
Lame huh? Come on down in August for a two day 4 round tournament when its 98 degrees and 100% humidity.

Here in Florida: Add tromping through ankle deep water that has sat for days during the raining hurricane season, all nice and rancid with bugs, flies and skitters buzzing about. At about the 5th whole everyone is smelly, muddy, sweaty and gross............BUT o.k. o.k. I would still rather deal with those June days rather then the cold, bitter air of NY winter.
I hate winter, but I'm still playing disc golf either way. I'm sure I'll bitch about it when it is cold, but at least I'm outside doing what I love and getting fat or being a rat in a gym all the time.
