The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I just played a tournament in heavy rain. I had my goretex shoes on and my rain pants and some rain jacket, and a huklab umbrella(those are square), but the main problem was ...holding on to my disc!
It was kinda weird but my champion plastic had a much better grip than my star discs.
I brought enough towells but I still had a hard time drying off my hands or discs.
A few people played with golf gloves or something similar. To me that is absurd but maybe I am missing something here?

LOTS of towels. Scott Papa had the cool idea of putting spares in a plastic bag and hanging it inside the umbrella. I pack large zip lock bags stuffed with them in my bag too. I keep a towel in my pocket to keep my hand on too. Also when I wipe the disc dry I put it up my shirt with my hand on it until I throw. Yeah Z(champ) plastic is much better in the elements than esp (star).
DX plastic is the grippier in the rain.
Birdie bags will dry up moisture.

I drop out! lol!! Truth be told. I've never had that problem.
just know that others are having trouble too. if you can bring yourself to practice in tough weather conditions, then it won't bother you as much later in competition.
It has never really bothered me all that much. I do have standard disc towels and I bring some shammy cloths as well. The umbrella helps to protect your bag and yourself as well. I dry off my discs in stages, use a shammy to get all the excess water off, then use a standard towel to get the rest off and then put it under my sweatshirt till I'm ready to throw. If it is muddy out, I use a standard towel to wipe debris, then the shammy, then a different towel to help soak up the little that is left. Have to bring a lot of extra towels, but the others are right...everyone else has to do deal with it also.
The bonopane grip works well when your hands are wet. I don't even towel off for drives when using that grip and have no problem with slippage.

...........whilst the Wind can be your friend....The Rain is NOT your friend...you must be prepared for the rain!!!
A microfiber towel to dry off the disc before putting it back in your bag,
A birdie bag to help keep your hands dry.
A poncho to put over your bag, pull strap through the head hole and discs stay dry until they are ready to be thrown.
umbrella works pretty well for this
