The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

What is required to form an "Official " Disc Golf Club?  I live in Florida and the local county powers that be will not consider talking to "just a bunch of guys" about the upkeep, repair and expansion of our beloved home course.  They said we need to have a bona-fide club.  Does this mean we need to file for a non-profit organization (which costs money that we don't have yet), or is just having the club charter that I got off the PDGA site good enough?  Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I would think having a bank account even if it's $100, business cards maybe with a logo and a especially a club web presence of some sort like a free Ning site or your own website would make you seem more legit.

What part of Florida?

Bob Lewis was and still is the guy at Barnett Park in Orlando. If you need some advice I would look him up.

Bob is the man!!!! Runs a tight ship!!!!! The guys from Daytona(Jamie rocshot) they run a great one too!!!!

Our club made a good first impression by donating to charity.  If you can get enough money together to purchase a tournament package from your favorite discgolf company, you could turn it around for a great profit.  Doing charity events will get a good vibe going and it will teach you how to make money for your club.
