The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
Hey everyone, I posted a thread not too long ago about trying to find a new putter. I currently use a soft wizard and wanted something that still finished slightly overstable but floated a little longer than the wizard. Ive tried every kind of aviar in every plastic and none felt right to me. I ordered a couple of discmania p2 psychos to see if this would do the trick. I know they are similar to an aviar but still i thought i would give the a run. I still havent received them in the mail yet but the other day i was at a friend house and i noticed he had an mvp soft ion. He told me to take it and play with it because it was too slick for him. When i got home i eagerly pulled out the disc and headed to my basket to do a comparison of my 3 wizards and the soft ion. I was simply amazed with the ion. It feels amazing when it leaves your hand and has the perfect glide for me but most importantly gave me that confidence that the disc was gonna do exactly what i wanted and bang those chains. Even though ive got 2 brand new psychos that will prolly be in my mailbox tomorrow the soft ion will stay in my bag. Ive decided im only gonna keep 1 wizard for a just in case disc but the others will go on the shelf to collect dust until they eventually find another home somewhere down the road. If theres anyone out there who is wanting to try an ion all i have to say is go for it!!!! its 1 awesome disc.

For Myself , I use a JK Pro Aviar-X. I beat them in to where they Putt Flat , straight lines. This way I can throw them with Hyzer , Flat or turned over if need be.
Permalink Reply by Ryan Heath on October 4, 2012 at 11:56am That was actually my first putter. I swapped from it to an omega super soft. Ive been playing about 4 years now. I kinda like my putter to be where i want it when it comes from the factory. I dont wanna have to break em in to be consistent with them. I played my best round ever yesterday with my ion. I went from a usual 7 up to even. Made a lot of decent putts. I like my my drivers whick are 100 % innova to be broken in. The only difference is i break my disc in a little differently. I get a brand new driver and throw it a couple of times and leave it out in my yard where it can soak up a couple days of sunlight in about 90 degree weather. Ill go get it and drill a tree with it while it kinda soft. In a couple of days my drivers fly very true to their rating. Im not really a fan of champ. plastic. its just too damn hard to beat in. I really like the star plastic the best.
Permalink Reply by Scott Miller on October 6, 2012 at 7:34pm I use a Steady Ed The Blunt Gumbputt for my putting when I want it to stick and not roll. I get some really awesome putts with it up to 125 feet. I also use a Disc Mania Maniac in P1, and a Lat 64 Pure 2nd run test material. I use all three during a round of golf. The numbers for the Maniac are 2 3 0 0 For the Pure 3 3 -1 1 Steady Ed has no numbers just flies flat and straight.
