The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Yesterday morning, there was a bunch of young tart guys out at the course throwing trash and beer cans everywhere, so me and 3 friends got free lunch from some guy for cleaning up the course!

That is awesome. I try to grab trash whenever I see it. At one of our local courses it seems to be getting worse. I really pisses me off when people cant pick up after themselves. If you can throw a disc in a basket you can throw you trash in a can. I am going to start a club in my area next year and I am going to try to hold a tournament at each course where if you come early I am going to give out trash bags and you can get reduced entry if you fill up the bag before you play.
great job, good to see people keeping it clean
I will join this tournament then, and very true about the trash and basket thing! There is a lake right behind the course, if you want to be a drunk idiot, go over there and be one with everyone else! And another thing people need to pick up after their dogs, I almost stepped in some yesterday!
It should be like this. If you drop trash on the course that I use, then I should be able to bring my trash over to your house and dump it in your living room. And if you leave your dog crap on the course, then I should be able to come over to your house and take one on your front lawn. Then we would be even. The only reason that people do this kind of thing is because they don't get caught or confronted. If I see someone trashing the course in any way I will say something to them. I truly hate idiots.
No Shit!!!! ....no pun intended.
or chuck a few discs at them! I remember one time I was at the course and i guess these guys were drunk, but they came up to me and I was playing alone that day, and they were like hey give me your bag of discs, I was like hell no, then about 15 people watched me beat the shit out of 3 guys on the course! great day
We were behind a group earlier this summer that was drinking beer and they kept leaving their empty bottles behind and one of my buddies kept saying something to them after each hole. After about the 6th time they got pissed and started talking smack and looked like they wanted to fight about it. They changed their mind once they saw the rest of us that came up behind them. Then they started saying that they haul trash out of there all the time.

Just because you pickup trash doesn't give you a license to litter the course. People like that weren't beaten as children and have no respect....maybe we should have done what their parents didn't do.
mackenzie park in puna is gem . a disc golfers paradise. i pick-up butts and bottles every sunday morning . but there is one lava tube were this homeless person live for about six years . its full of trash and bags of human waste (chit) so you wouldn't want to ricochet your favorite disc in there . we contacted DLNR to see if they could clean it up . there response was to put up a big sign " NO (list of 10-12 things) under penalty of law . no clean-up just big sign . (biggest to date in this park) so i have now turned to the "environmental health services" they are supposed to call me back tomorrow because the main guy was on the other side today . i hope this man made disaster can be cleaned up without losing the lava tube .
I've only gone to a course specifically to pick up trash 3 times, but each time I found a disc with no name or number.
