Portland OR Awesome courses and DG community

Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lots of courses and tournaments. As an added bonus, the economy sucks so badly you won't be able to find a job. Nothing skyrockets improvement like unemployment.
I live in Alabama now, but I used to live in Joliet, IL. Last time I checked there's about 17-18 courses within a 15 mile radius of Joliet. You can't find a course you like there YOU DON'T LIKE DISC GOLF! So defenitely there!
Portland OR
Denver CO
California CA (I'd love to throw DeLaveaga every day)
Austin, TX
And if you move to Ann Arbor Michigan, there are other added bonuses aside from the sucking sound of the economy.
From Ann Arbor in ALL directions N,S,E and W you can find some extremely challenging and beautiful courses.but then again, there are a few drawbacks here in Michigan.

Me, I think I'll look at the Kansas City area so I can get all practiced up for the World Championships 2009.
1. Charlotte NC for hte numerous courses
2. Portland Oregon for the scenery
3. Anywhere warm year round
Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Mellon (Wisconsin) should be added to the list.
Portland, Oregon is where to find some great courses, amazing scenery and you can play all year long.

But I actually have not got to experience any of that this year because I have not been back to Oregon in over 7 months, looking forward to going back home after such a long DG season.
i'm currently living in charlotte. and the disc scene here is pretty awesome, i'm without car at the moment so its tough to get out as much as i would like, but very shortly thatll be changin...
anyhoe the moral of the story is i wanna head somewhere other then here.
Off the top of my head, I can think of three, no four, no five criteria to consider:

1) Number of courses - self explanatory

2) Inter-Course Variety (easy now) - Mix of course types - Open and short, Open and Long, Wooded and short, Wooded and Long, etc.

3) Accessability of courses - are the courses always crowded (Austin, for example) or is there room for free play, especially at the times you want to use it?

4) Yearly use of course - are there months where the courses are unplayable due to cold/snow/rainy season, etc., or are the courses accessible year round (DFW, So Cal - I would include PHX, but their summers make DFWs seem like springtime).

5) Support for the sport - clubs that promote the sport and have a partnership with the park departments, park departments that are willing to plant new courses.

Give these criteria weighting factors to help decide. For example, the quality of the courses and clubs and support in Michigan and Minnesota may override their relative inaccessibility during the winter months.

I wasn't born in Dallas, but once I got here, I wanted to stay. I read that there were 37 courses in the quite large metropolitan area, supported by several clubs, and are not too crowded and are accessible year round, and they are evidently supported by the park departments here, looking at the phenominal growth in the number of courses.
larger cities: charlotte, pittsburgh, des moines
smaller towns: bowling green, spotsylvania,va
