Innova Dominator & Mamba On The Loose

Innova introduces the Dominator and Mamba discs. 

Both were PDGA Approved as of 1-22-2012.

Anyone hear anything about these??

Let me guess, it's a mix between a Teebird, a Sidewinder and a Destroyer. I am a bit skeptical anymore of Innova and all of their new discs that they release. Different shades of the same thing at some point. Call me skeptical I guess.

I guess this is what happens when so many freaked out after the Wahoo came out. Which is really a bad-ass-hour-long-fight-to-land-one fish. Now I wonder if so many people will complain about the Dominator that Innova will name all their discs something neutral like Ion, Vector, Axis. Oh wait....

Preliminary numbers from a Swedish website.... Google it.... Mamba 11, 5, -5, 1 and dominator 13,5,-2,2. Obviously the -5 doesn't fit the Innova flight chart so we shall c how the final flight numbers end up.

Dave has stated that the Mamba is the biggest turning disc to date. With that speed number of 11, it should stable it up a little bit. I know, all you super arms will proclaim it the next great roller before you've even seen it.

 

The best news is that they aren't going to have the anhyzer (Vulcan) top on them. They should be unique unto themselves. Usually end up with a better disc that way historically with Innova.

The Mamba is a speed 11 finesse driver for players looking for more turn out of their drives. It excels at giving more distance even when not thrown perfectly. The Dominator is a speed 13 driver that falls between the Katana and the Boss. The Dominator has great glide and displays a predictable finish.

Mamba
The Mamba was designed to give maximum distance for minimal effort. The Mamba has more high speed turn than any of our long range drivers, so throwing into a headwind is not recommended. For those with less driving speed, it will add distance. For the medium armed crowd, it will shape long lines for turnovers and straight shots, as well as hyzer flips and even big rolls. Initial tests indicate flight numbers at [11|5|-5|1].

Dominator
The Dominator is a speed 13 plus distance driver designed to give the best of control and long line shaping for higher power players. Similar to the Katana, with more high speed stability, the Dominator has the glide to maximize distance with a predicable turn. Lower power players will be able to use the Dominator in weights down to the mid 130s in Blizzard Champion plastic. Dominator tests show [13|5|-1|2] as the potential flight numbers.

Anyone else notice Innova changed their flight chart? Looks like they bumped up the max glide to 7 and the max turn to -5. Should make for some flippy plastic right out of the box. Has me curious. :)

I have no interest in the Mamba but I definitely want to try the Dominator
