The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
One of the things I LOVE and HATE about Innova is ALL the dang selection the make that are so close together in Flight Ratings! The New Innova Krait is between a Wraith 11/5/-1/3 and an Archon 11/5/-2/2.... The initial Ratings on the Krait are 11/5/-1/2....
Give me a month and I'll have a Krait or 3....

Permalink Reply by josh wieschowski on May 3, 2012 at 2:50pm I think its silly really, after they get beat up a little they will fly very similiarly. I decided a while ago that Im not going to keep on buying all the new discs, with a few exceptions here and there. I buy three of my favorite molds and beat them up accordingly. I decided to stick with what works..........JMO.
Rock it out, Ive bought enough discs to supply 100 newbies but now its narrowed down to select molds!
Permalink Reply by Dookville on May 3, 2012 at 4:42pm I like the Krait, it has its own top on it, nice medium dome. The Archon seems to be a Wraith with a Vulcan top on it, it was hit and miss for me. The Wraith has always been a good disc, but needed a little seasoning out of the box to be right where I like it.
When we threw the Krait, it felt like a seasoned Wraith from the first throw. It was very familiar, no surprises, maybe a little more glide because it wasn't fighting as hard to fade. I don't know what it will be like once it beats in, but outta the box it was great. I suppose if I was at a tournay and needed to replace a lost Wraith, buying a Krait would net the same results without the beat in period or having to compensate for the initial stability.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Nichols on May 3, 2012 at 9:10pm I don't have your arm Dook, but I am DIGGIN' on the Archon right Now. Mine are still brand new with only a round or two on them, but they are flying well for me. :) If the Krait is like a well seasoned Wraith, I maay have to try one Me-Self. Thanks for the info. :)
Permalink Reply by David Ledford on May 4, 2012 at 6:37pm I have always liked my Wraiths. I find the Lat-64 Flow to be somewhat similar also. I will have to go out a buy a Krait, although I really don't like the name.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Nichols on May 4, 2012 at 7:26pm The Wraith, regardless of which plastic, has always seemed So Much more stable than a Flow, to me. I never understood it. A Flow, whether GL or Opto, I could turn over right out of the box. A Wraith is always a Meat hook, in comparison. I expected the Archon to be Closer to a Flow, but in my Opinion, the Archon is a bit more stable, right out of the rack....
Permalink Reply by Jim Coonradt on May 5, 2012 at 1:33am Yes Innova releases way too many new discs that are all just slightly different. Marketing really. Gets you to buy a disc that really isn't much different just because it is something new. I'm not buying any new discs right now simply because I have no need for anything new. They should have called it Bungarus.
