dx roc, great disc,a good throw at the basket disc if you are out side putting range

I love my Roc +.   I have a full weight Roc + (star plastic) and a beat in dx Roc in 170's range.    You need to throw the Roc's of your friends around and see if you like them and then figure out what you want.

now that im a little confused and a little more educated on the 3 types that rescue talks about, can you help me understand what plastic and catagory the glow roc i show pic of is....

Roc's are Excellent !!!  Don't go max weight at first. Try a DX Roc around 174 -176 grams.

Harold, that's a rancho- imo the best and only roc.
I like 180 kc's with decent dome:) but would suggest dx around 175 for ones first roc.

so when folks say rancho, the glow roc is in that catagory

,been using the glows for 4yrs,and dx for 2yrs,at 180grms

Yes, they make the 3 molds in champion plastic.  I have some pictures of some champion rocs on my page.

I own a 175g Star San Marino + a 165g KC pro Roc.

The San Marino is GREAT for off the tee.  You don't have to worry about throwing it too hard all that often.  It allows you to get a full, firm release and it flies great it is so smooth as it ends to the left.

The KC pro Roc is great for your all around "every shot" disc (they all say that, but its true).  In a sense, a lighter weight for this disc gives me a chance to have more control over each shot, and also less power is required.

Each of these discs are very nice discs.  Try giving them both a try.

Glow rocs are the Rancho mold... essentially in dx plastic.  Some of them are stiffer like a KC roc, some more toward the dx.  You get a lot of different stiffness in any of innova's plastics so I like... have to... buy my rocs in person.  I don't like too much dome and I don't like the super flattops either, though some really love those.

They will take some getting used to.  If you shop around you can find all three molds in DX plastic.  The Ontario and the San Marino are TFR discs (tournament fundraiser/players pack discs) so they are tougher to find.  So for 24-30 bucks you could try all three.  Or my personal recommendation is to just pick up a 7-8 standard rancho roc with the big bird stamp on it.  Give it a little time as they start off quite overstable, but as it hits trees and wears it will start to fly straighter.  My favorite is a slightly beaten dx rancho roc.  I love that my favorite disc is 7 dollars at the shop by my house.  Anyway this slightly beaten roc is pretty similar to an off the shelf Z buzzz.  Why don't I just buy a Buzzz then?  Because of the feel of DX plastic.  The Z is a little slick for me in a midrange.  In a driver it's fine because of my power grip.  I tried the Pro D Buzzz hoping that it would be perfect brand new, but it's a different disc... just flips too much for me.  So I ended up stuck having to beat a roc the way I want it. They tend to age fairly slowly though so you know what you're going to get out of it from throw to throw for several rounds.  Oh, and the roc is slightly shorter off the tee than the Buzzz, thought you might want to know that too.

Do you need a roc in the bag?  Are you missing out without it?  Will it make you a better player?  No.  Is it a fantastic disc, one of if not the best ever?  Yes.  But then the Buzzz fits that bill as well.  So if you like the Buzzz, you don't necessarily need a roc.  But then for $7-8 bucks, it wouldn't hurt you to try it out.  I mean, c'mon, we've all thrown a Roc (peer pressure!).

Ya, come on dude. If you want to be cool you'll at least try it..;)~
got a kc pro roc everyone hahah
