The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I just acquired a 168 gram, lemon yellow, prototype, 2010 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships, Lemon Lake, promotional Innova "Star" Katana from "The Disc Depot" in Portland, OR. I already have a 175 Champion and a 168 Pro Katana 2010 Japan Open promotional disc. Does anyone know when these are suppose to be released to the public. I think the Katana is going to replace all of my turnover disc. They are fast and very under stable.

For me, the Nuke is definitely not like the other high speed drivers. I definitely wouldn't call myself a power player, so I was pleasantly surprised when I started getting big s-curves out of it with a flat release and 80% power.
I really haven't thrown it enough to give an educated answer, but I'll try anyway. I can tell you that I deliberately threw it with the power that I would use on an overstable Flash and got a lot of distance in return. It's helix seemed wide, like it would need a little room to really take off. I also was able to turn it over and have it stay turned over.
Here is some references on how hard I throw: I can turn over a 168 Pro Destroyer if I juice it, but I have to throw my 175 champ Destroyer with so much anhyzer that it almost looks like I'm throwing a roller to have it properly S-curve. My favorite driver (this week at least) is a flat Z Flash. I really have to dial it back with my Sidewinder or my Vision, both around 170, to avoid an instant flip that usually results in a disastrous roller. With no skip, elevation, or tailwind I can throw 350' max, but it's usually more like 300'-325'.
I got one Nuke for me and one for my buddies' birthday. It was his 174g Nuke that I spent some time in the field with as mine had some postage issues. He has a smoother throw with a little less snap than me, and he said it's nothing short of a game changer for him. Hopefully, someone with more time throwing the Nuke can add to this discussion, at least until I get to know it better.
Would a person who throws around 320' be able to use this disc. I'm asking for a friend not ..me;) Or is it to much of a disc? The Katana works great for me and the Halo might be to much, but we'll see. The jury is still out on the Halo, at least for me....er,umm, I mean my friend. It also sounds like a Katana for the most part, so should I even bother?

Thanks,
I think each disc is different for each arm, but if you have to progress up to discs with faster speeds, at least until you can build your arm speed. Some big arms may like this disc, but you have to know what it can do for you. My Star Boss is my retarded-stable disc, and my Pro Katana is now my retarded-under stable disc, almost a roller, if you don't watch how you release it! I think the Champion is my favorite so far, but haven't had that many throws with the Star yet. All are very under-stable. Also the weight is most definitely a factor. A lighter disc will do more what it is suppose to do, if you don't have the arm speed, but will flip too quick if you do!!

I was throwing all three, Pro, Champ, and Star, today. I saw a friend of mine, with a pretty big arm, crank the Champion 175 gram about 510ft, and it started turning about 320 and never came back, so it is definitely a turn-over disc. But I haven't seen a disc get from here to there as fast as this one!
