I've been wondering some opinions for when your on a PUBLIC course..
you hit an ace...
is it ok to put a name/date on either the post or the back of the sign...
just curious if its frowned upon, i'm not sure cause i love seein someones name and kinda sharing there excitment especially on the crazy holes...
This thread was started a while back, you should look up the answers there. I remember there being a lot of feedback, it was started by Eric Lind. And sure, it's ok.
NO NEVER! do not deface public property, plus its a HUGE distraction during good tournament play to look at your buddies signature and get distracted. Sign your disc and get your buddies to second it...
PLEASE NO!
CBass is correct that this has come up before, but Evan is right in that this is Public property and should not be defaced. Sign and date your disc, and have your buddies sign it too. That way you'll always have it, but please don't sign the baskets/targets/signs...
Don't put anything on the tee signs. I think signing the basket is fine. Just don't make it crazy huge. Name and date in a conservitive manner. Aces are fun things for the hardcores and casuals. Better than writing your name with a Sharpie, go to a trophy place and have a little plaque made (that you can glue to the pole), and place it BELOW the basket on the pole.
I read that old thread and was kind of bummed to hear how bad it was. I don't see it here in Washington, but now that I read that thread, I have seen it a couple of times and it bothers me and I'm pretty sure I'll be going out of my way to cover up the graffiti, just because it's tacky.
the question is WHY would you do that??? what's the point? do you have to show the world that you aced that hole?
it's called modesty which is an important part of the game. sign YOUR disc and call it good for christ's sake. I've never seen a basket out here with a name on it and i hope to god i never do.
