The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

So I finally got my disc golf rake out in the warmer weather and tried it out. Pulled out a disc I had lost about four months ago from a lake. It is a Discraft Elite X Driver.

It cleaned up ok but smells very bad as it was on bottom of lake with lake mud and scum. If you a country boy as I am that is a most foul smell.

I have bleached it for two days but still kind of stinky. I now have it in a ziploc bag until I need to pull it out and use it.

Any advice on how I might better clean it up and it might smell good. I realize that some plastics are very absorbant but was hoping to get it smelling ok.

I had a similar problem and there is a discussion here: http://discgolfer.ning.com/forum/topics/how-do-i-clean-stinky-discs The vanilla seemed to work for me on the dx plastic but not as well on the Candy.
Thanks!
well, they make this stuff called "Axe". have you tried spraying a ton of it on your disc? Possibly febreeze?
hey now,I would leave them "lost" if the smell is permenant.Someone will be glad to "find"/keep your discs.A small price to pay for allowing someone else to play.Black out your info.Peace
well i dug it out trying to get a friends disc. he is a newb and he hated to lose a disc. but a disc found is a disc to give away or keep if you can.

i would try a bunch of baking soda and a little water ( make like a glue consistency ) and throw that and the disc in a ziploc bag for a week or so. if that doesn't work give it to a newbie or leave it on a tee pad for some random person. gl.
You only need one hand to throw,.......so pinch your nose closed with the other while throwing.......LOL. I found an old innova champion star Eagle.....the first disc style made, in La mirada lake. The leaves had left a pattern etched in the plastic on the bottom of the disc.......it looks cool the way i outlined it with a pen.. it still smells a little like duck & goose crap.
funny it sounds like the pet you get that just isn't working out.
