Yeah, I too favor my more beat up version of my favorite putter (discraft pro d challenger). I like fresher ones for putts inside of 10m, but I often switch to my first one that is beat for jumping. I jump everything outside of 10m that I can. I know a lot of pros don't until a little longer range, but I just can't generate enough power with a traditional putt much outside of 10m without sacrificing some accuracy. I'd actually prefer a putt at 10m over a putt at 9m so that I can jump.

The benefit to me of using a more beat version of my fav. putter vs. using a different model is that the disc feels the same in my hand. Putting is all about feel. Find the disc that's most comfortable and use that. Then beat it in for a while and jump with that.
Soft Magnet - less stable than my < 10m putter (wizard), holds a great straight line.
