Well they probably haven't made many runs yet there's not much to compare it to for consistency. Some Cores/Strikers are much domier than others that I know. Gold line is a league of it's own it seems only the Hulk could make it warp or get road-rashed.
I found them to be very consistent with their molds. I have several Visions in both plastics and they all fly pretty much the same. The Gold Line platic seems to be a bit more stable than it's Opto counterparts, but that's true with Discraft and Innova as well. The only oddity I encountered was with weight. I bought two 164g Opto Halo's. They are sooooo overstale compared to my 170g Opto Halo's. It's like two completely different discs. I gave one of the 164g Halos to a buddy who has a cannon for an arm. I figured he could get them to fly straght, but he gave them back. He said it was like throwing a Flick. Heck when I compared them side to side. They didn't even look like the same discs. It was very odd. Now after saying all that. I've owed a Core (2), Striker (2), Vision (5), Blitz (2). They all seem ti fly just like their counterparts. The Halo is the only odd ball out of the bunch.
As for the platic. The Gold Line is cray durable. I've had the Vision in my bag for a few month now and have had some serious tree strikes. After all that abuse, all there is is some scuffs. Now it's not as tacky as the ESP or Star plastic, but it will last forever or until you loose it ;)
The reason why your discs may be consistent could be you bought a. the same run, b. they've only made one run of them so far, they're new and don't sell as much as Innova/Discraft. In a year or two we will better know their consistency.
I have a bunch of LAT 64 discs. The GL is comparable to star but it seems more durable and it feels grippier. I have nerfed some trees and hit a concrete stairway HARD with my GL Striker and it has NO visible damage (although flies less stable now). I have some star discs that haven't seen that much action that have small chunks missing...
My opto striker is far more stable than the GL ever was so I am not seeing the same results as some previous posts.
Alls I know is the gold line halo has to be in a league of its own! I love innova star, but for some reason this gold line stuff flies awesome and im not gonna lie, I have hit a few trees at full throttle and not a mark. If you want a super fast disc with accuracy and durability get a HALO! Not to mention I've never seen any disc skip further than the halo.
