sparked from the "what was your first ace" thread, i started thinking about "longest aces". most of our aces come from shorter, higher percentage shots, that are bound to go in at some point in time right? so what's your longest? let's see who has the biggest one out there.
mine came last year and wasn't anything too huge. it was a 381' skip ace with a 175 'Red' Star TeeRex at Dexter (OR). it was a lower hyzer shot to the right, that skipped right of the two trees and easily hopped more than 40ft before it crashed chains (the blue circle behind the trees with ob road 10ft past the basket).
needless to say, the shot fu*&ing golden.

Mine came this past spring on #5 at Lenora Park (Snellville, GA). A 362 foot shot. I threw a 174g Wraith. It held a straight line, never more than about 10-15 feet right of the basket. Hyzered in just at the end, skipped right in front of the basket, and hopped in. This was my first tournament Ace.

that's absolutely incredible. i've heard good things about this course and would love to see some pics of hole 18 if anyone has any. the (top of the world) shot at Whistlers bend has been hit before too. i don't know the distance but i'm pretty sure is longer than 580ft.
330' hyzer right in the basket and it did two circle around the basket before sitting
star destroyer
Ottawa park in toledo # 10
Longest chain smash I know of was Elaine King at the Pro Worlds in Flagstaff - she smashed the chains on the basket as the group ahead of her was clearing their discs - from the tee 810 feet away! It's captured on film in the Worlds video for that year.
not super long...but my longest ace is 290 feet-#10(short tees) on the Monster, Hudson Mills, Dexter Michigan. I have added a picture of the basket that is guarded by two large conifers.....never thought the hyzer route into the basket was a possibility until my tracker slammed into the chains and stuck!!!!!

I don't know the distance on my longest ace, but I do know that my longest jump putt ace is 125'...and I got it during a tournament!! I actually have 2 jump putt aces (the second being 100') and they were both during a tournament!!
Up until a few years ago I had no aces outside of 300 feet. Then one year I had only 3 aces and all were over 300 feet (305', 345' and 360'). Aces are weird and unpredictable. Coming close to an ace is skillful but hitting the ace is luck.
My longest so far is 345' at Huckleberry Park in Hannibal MO, #17.

First time I threw the Destroyer.
Of my 24 aces the 320 ft one was the longest. The ace I got teamed up with Barry Schultz in a double event ('99 Mad City) was probably the coolest as it propelled us to a one stroke victory....plus I got $5.00 from Barry... I heard that 726'footer was on a 'down the mountain' hole. Musta been way cool to see...
