The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Clearly hole design is the easiest way to make your disc golf course unique.  But what else can you do to really make your disc golf course memorable, fun, and challenging?

Some things I've seen -

- interesting barriers/obstacles (farm equipment, hay bails, boulders)
- raised and sunken baskets
- gravel fairways, woodchip greens
- big, informative, eye-catching signs

give me your two cents.

san diegos morley field also has two pyramids holes
there is a glow in the dark paint that is clear when applied. it stays charged overnight
I have heard of the Morley field pyramid.

We just installed a position on one of our holes that is left into the trees and absolutely not visible from the tee. We posted a little sign on the tee with a picture so people have an idea where to throw. It has been birdied quite a few times already. I wasn't sure about it when we put it in but now I really like the challenge.
I think artificial OB is under embraced. 20 ft bunkers around the basket would be cool.... the "no gimmie" putt.
That would be insane. And it punishes people who have a good up shot and practice that all the time.
It rewards people with good drives, upshots and puts ...lol. 20 ft is not a huge putt...
How about the old 'Island Hole' @ White's Acres?
I love that hole!
Swingin' D.B.'s in Monocure, NC

It is a pvt course with just about every basket hanging.
Independence lake?
Just found the perfect spot for another swinging basket, too. From a tree growing over the old horse-barn stone wall. Thinking of adding 3 more holes.
Rock walls that tier elevation changes. I've seen many rock piles and towers but I want each hole to really be its own piece of art with landscape structures defining each fairway and/or putting surface/area. I rarely see that in courses.
