When you are playing alone do you mark your lie with a mini?
I never do. I just flip my disc and shoot from there.

What's a mini?
Mark your lie with a mini or just play behind your disc as it sits.
No flipping.
Man is a creature of habit.
Create good habits and stay tournament ready.
Threw in a group today with a guy who flipped it, then stood on it.
All I can say is that is sloppy golf.
His scores showed it. Yours will too.
Play like a Pro and you might score like a pro.
Take some pride in what you are doing and respect the rules.
So you can't flip your disc during a tournament.
NO. You may play directly behind and through the center (in a line to the basket) of the thrown disc, OR you may mark it on afforementioned line directly in front of the thrown disc with a mini marker (you can't use another disc) and play directly behind the mini again through the center in line with the pin. Your foot has to land within 15 centimeters behind the back edge of that disc or on mini on the line through the pin.
I try to mark it or I just throw from behind the disc. That way I won't make a mistake in a tournament.
Comically I have thrown a round (alone) with just a couple of my new discs. You know, trying to learn them. And didn't bring a mini. I used my smokes just so I wouldn't get out of the habit.
I am a fan of the beer mini myself
yep, just throw behind what you threw, dont flip. It will save on your back as well (less bending). Now if you need to throw the same disc, put down a mini. Stay in the habit of doing it!
Ok just read the rule book thanks for pointing that out I guess I need to quit flippng my disc
I've really been trying to make it a habit now matter what just so I don't mess up in a tourney.
I mark EVERYTIME I play. I play better in my casual rounds when I mark my disc. I like the routine. It gets me focused on the shot. For upshots I don't worry about stepping on my disc after I throw which frees me up to concentrate.

The only time I don't mark my lie and play the thrown disc is when I need a little more room to operate. Sometimes marking the lie makes it that much harder to get around trees, bushes, etc... Either way, don't ever flip your disc. If you do it in a tourny you may be penalized for it. Don't make it a habbit.
I leave my disc where it lies whenever I play non-tourney, especially when putting. I figure being eight inches farther out will only make that much better a putter.
