I am really getting weak ankles and it is hard for me to get out of my car and walk after a long drive and / or a lot of golf. I am going to try wearing mid / hi tops for work and play. Any suggestions on a good shoe to golf in?

I wear a pair of Keen Trailheads, they are more a 3/4 top than low, but they seem to be very stable for me. I've enjoyed golfing all Winter long in them.
I wear these. I typically throw 10 to 15 rounds a week. I also have (insert really long medical word) which means the tendons and such are slowly falling apart. I am still sore after a 2 day tourney, but far less than when I just wear my sneakers.
Hi-Tec Rogue WPs. I treat mine with Tectron spray but they are also supposed to be waterproof. Haven't got wet feet with them yet. So far I really like them.
I've got the Bite shoes... They have lasted me for a few years and work like new. My only issue is that they are NOT waterproof.
Had a friend in high school sports that kept twisting and spraining his ankles.
High top shoes alone did not work.
He had to wrap them every time before any strenuous exercise involving using your legs.
Other than shoes, try an ankle wrap or brace. About a year ago I had a very bad high ankle sprain on my planting foot. Since I've been wearing a brace it really has cut down on the strain because it puts a lot of needed pressure on the ankle and doesn't allow it to twist as much. Plus it's just good protection.
I have the Bite shoes... High tops, Trekkers and Sandals and I loved them all... the high tops are great and are water proof until the water gets to the laces then the leak a bit. Gotta go still has some but the sizes are running out so you might look... and if you like them buy more then one pair! Bite has not been making these shoes for a few years now and stock is about gone.
Do they make high top Crocs?
You might want to look at "inserts" I guy I use to work with wore these because of bad ankles. They looked like a half sock (no toe), but it was canvas and had laces in the front. He would still be able to put on his norm high tops without a problem. Also todays basket ball shoes are pretty high tech and are designed to counter ankle roll.
I would say that ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. All football players tape their ankles or wear an ankle support then wear low tops. I wear lace up ankle wraps 25$ and one strip of tape around my wrist like a bracelet not tight just snug and I have less wrist fatigue. In the winter I wear work boots and those work for me in the summer I wear new balance with a good pair of socks, the more I spend on socks I realize they are the final barrier between moisture and my feet more important then gore-tex I can step knee deep in water then in five minutes my feet are again dry.
