The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Apparently he's never missed a day of work and didn't show up today, after not showing up to play disc with some buddies, and is not answering the phone or at home.
His friends are concerned.

i played. didn't see him. that vehicle would really stick out.
let's keep this bumped to top! Hope to hear good news on this by the AM!
Good luck and God bless!
I'm sure that others have thought of this allready but..
Does his car or Cell phone have GPS? I'm sure that asking those companys for help that they would be able to track him..
the sheriff is involved but has proved unhelpful to this point. please keep your eyes open and mike in your thoughts.
Greg, I don't want to bug the family too much but I know you are in contact with them. Have they tried asking gas stations on the route if they could look at video for the time period in question? Those videos are crappy but that car would stand out. I could volunteer some time to sit and watch video.
i am sorry. i do not know the answer to that. i will suggest it as a possibility. no ideas are bad ideas. to compound the problem, a large part of the initial trouble seems to be pinning down a route. i know the family is interested in tracking credit card, bank card, and cell phone records. hopefully, they will make progress with that today. it stands to reason that the sooner someone is able to obtain some, or all, of these things the better.
I hate to say this but I would have the family contact different towing companies to see if the vehicle has been in an accedent and was towed there. If the police arnt being much help just skip over them and go to the tow yards. Ones to check in the Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti area are Brewers, Triangle, Sakstrips, and Budget. They can usualy tell you right away if they have the vehicle if you give them a plate number or make, model of the vehicle, and date it would have been brought in.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. I hope Mike comes home!
on The Cell Records, with certain types of cell phones you can triangulate a position with the last call made. It would take a specialist to do. My prayers are with the family and all of you that are in the area helping with the search. God Speed and hope all turns out well.
Mike lives a block from me. If he was headed to Ypsi Dubs there two basic routes - one partial dirt (munger to Wiard's to RH) and a slightly longer paved route, Munger, textile, stone school). I take the direct dirt route and did not see his car. I still have a couple of his CD that I had expected to give to him at Ypsi Dubs but I had no indication if he would be there or not. I'm surprised he did not have a league or partner he communicated with concerning his intended course/time but I know he many times just showed up at RH and played.
I feel odd mentioning this. Since it was most likely done, but if the law is not to helpful. Have they called the local EMS (Fire and Amb.) agencies and hosp. for any admits during that time? Just a thought. Also remember They might not have a name. So it would be a John Doe. I hate to say this, but you should also check the trauma centers and not just the local hospitals as well.
Hey everyone, I'm Mike's brother in law and a fellow golfer. I just registered on the site to say a huge thank you to everyone for your efforts in helping to locate Mike. He is not yet home with us, but we do have some evidence that he is ok but no longer in Michigan. We are reaching out to folks in the area he is headed to help and we just want him to come home and know that he can come home safely.

I can't tell you how much the disc golf community's efforts over the past day have helped his family, and the outpouring of support and notes of affection I'm sure will help to bring him home, provided we can get in touch with him. Thank you to everyone here for your support and quick action, and even more for the great friendships you've demonstrated with Mike. We think he's great and it is wonderful to see others think the same.
Discussion is closed. We're very happy that Mike appears to be safe and unharmed. We don't need to know more unless his family thinks we can help.
