I have two used beat up Pluto Platers that I found at a swap meet, I paid $5 for each of them...wounder what they would be worth if I put them on ebay???
As far as I know, none of my disc friends are collectors, so I don't have anyone to ask, so would someone take a moment to explain the designations and reason for collection?

What's the meaning of the number x designations, such as 3x, 11x?
Do the numbers have meaning or are they just a designation?
Where on the disc does one find the markings?
Are the markings on all discs or just some?

And lastly, why do you collect, is there a market in rare discs or is it just to satisfy the drive to have something unique?
the 3x or 11x means how many time world champion. Example: an 11x kc pro roc would be 11 time world champ Ken Climo edtion pro roc.
My first run QJLS collection is up to 4 now. These are hard to find.
I have a couple of piranahs; I'm not sure how rare they are, but nobody else around here carries one. And, I have a first run z flick.
I keep a first run Elite Z Reaper in my bag.......what a beauty!
First run dyed crush a first run dyed force a black esp surge with a white stamp before the doss surges a ce eagle and ce firebird.
Well, somewhere packed away in one of many trunks or storage tubs is a Frisbie Pie Tin from the old homestead.Mom made some great rubarb pie so long ago in those tins.

semi sweet, just this side of tart. One just has to miss the home baking of our parents/grandmothers/gr8t aunts.
Either my old Hands Putters or a F15 from around 1990.
I don't know how rare it is, but I still have the 1st driver I ever bought, a Discraft Shadow from 1987
