I went to the open area in the middle of the public park and just tossed for distance, I didnt care where they went as long as it went straight out and my best was 233 feet with the 150 g Stingray, this may not be a great toss for most but for me this is outstanding I got 127 feet with my 165 Stingray, distance was checked with GPS.

yesterday playing ball golf I was out driving my dad by just shy of 100 yards. He still beat me by 20 strokes. Long drives don't mean anything if you cant do everything else.
I spend more time on the short game in the yard than I do on the long toss,I get down to putting range and I dont do bad just takes me to many shots to get to putting so the long toss is great for me, and It really gets old tossing putts all day in the back yard lol
Going to your local park or school field can help distance immensely. Just concentrating on hitting it harder and throwing farther. I don't know if you carry anything faster than your Stingrays but you might consider picking up a mid 160s Leopard and perhaps a Teebird in the same weight. For faster drivers and beginners many seem to recommend the Roadrunner in a similar weight.
I have Teebird in 170g I may try working with it more my boys like it, they are young and dont have the speed troubles like dear old dad.
Cool. I use a football field. That way I have a good idea on distance. One thing I do for fun. Is I'll make up a hole and use the various painted lines in the field for my alleys to throw down. This way I kill two birds with one stone. Keep at it!
That would be nice, if they seen me on the football field they would have a litter of three leg cross eyed pups.
was that a backhand or forehand throw?
I normally drive forehand because it goes farther than my backhand.
Whenever I throw backhand it goes high and slightly comes back on its fall.
backhand, I really dont try the forehand much yet no control
Congrats on your new personal distance record! I was in the same situation as you, I had a hard time throwing over 250 feet. What's helped a lot is going to the soccer field or football field and practicing distance. I'd also suggest checking out Disc Golf Fundamentals Volume 1 with Ken Climo and Dave Feldburg. After watching it a few times and applying the tips my game improved a ton. I'm driving 300-320 feet accurately and consistantly as well as being able to putt better and not be near as sore after playing 3 rounds a day on occasion.
Thanks I will look into that vidio see if I can learn a thing or two
Congrats brad, i remember the first ime i broke 300ft then 350 then finally 400 last summer. It take practice thats for sure, but if you work on form more distance will come.
I have been asking people to watch my arm and hand during the dilevery and then show me in slow motion to try to get a grip on what i am dooing
