Just got my new discs... just wanted to share and get some thoughts on these molds

173g Gold Halo

173g Opto Core

172g Opto Fuse

172g Grip Pure

I have a Opto Striker from them and love the plastic... So I decided to pick up some more discs and try them out. I've thrown a friends Halo before and that thing was really fast!

If anyone throws these please share your thoughts...

Thanks,

Well I'll start off by saying. I throw approx. 300 to 330' (give or take). So I didn't have the arm for the Halo, but the people I passed it on to seem to like it. I liked the Core, but I just couldn't find a place in my bag. It seemd to be a tweener disc for me. I had a Pure in the Zero plastic as well as the Grip. I thought it was funny, that the Zero plastic. Had better "grip" than the Grip plastic, but once again. My APX swirl beat it out. The one disc I really dig is the Vision. One of the most predictable turnover discs I've thrown and it's around 20' longer than my Sidewinder. I wish they would come out with a driver that's not as stable as the Halo, but more stable than the Vision. The thing that sets them apart from the rest of the companies, is their plastic. The Opto and Gold Line has to be some of the best plastic (aside from CE plastic) there is. It's nice and tacky, so you get a good grip with it. Plus it's durable as heck and it looks awesome too! I know call me shallow, but just about everyone I show the Gold Line plastic too. Thinks it looks sick!
I have a 165g Gold Halo and it's a bit less stable than I thought it'd be. Granted, it's fast fast fast but I can flip it over sometimes and my avg long drive is only around 340. Every once in awhile it'll go super far, I'm talking 400 if I can get the flex shot down. Gold and Opto are def the best plastics though, like Rescue said. I have a vision in that sparkle plastic and after about 3 rounds it would just flip over to a roller. Sweetest looking "bowling ball" disc ever. I want to try the core and fuse, let us know how they fly for you.
You throw around 340 and turn that sucker over? I gave up trying to get the Halo to not hyzer out so much. Maybe I have an overstable batch? I found that the Gold Line plastic is more stable than the Opto. I find if you throw the Vision at about 80% power and with a hyzer angle (angle depends on what you want it to do). That the disc just goes forever! Throw it flat and I get a nice controlled turnover shot, but you for sure. You can't rip it or as you said. Bowling ball time.
As for the Core. I'd say it's between the Roc and Buzz in regards to stability. However, it blows past those discs by a good 20+ feet. Reminds me of the DGA Squall, but maybe not as stable.
Also, I loooooove the Blitz. Overstable kinda flies like an Xcal. Predictable.
Buy American the job you save may be your own
Too late, dude.
God that cracks me up! My Toyota is made in America, but Chevy and Fords (some of them) are made in Canada or Mexico. Oh crap! I have to get of the computer! it's made in Japan, China, and Pakistan....bye!
we don't really make much to buy anymore. Don't know if you noticed that. I mean even our domestic beers(anny bush) are imports now...besides. There are disc golf disc. Don't really think that has much impact on our market...We stopped caring about saving jobs the minute we stopped making things. Which was a while ago. Not to sound crappy or anything but I mean most of the things you own aren't american either. They can't be...we don't make much.

PS...their plastic is freaking awesome.
Only latitude i throw is the Vision, nothing else compares from other makers. The longest, most controlled Anhyzer glides i've ever seen. i've tried other latitudes, but discraft and innova make similar discs, so i save a few bucks if i buy from them because Latitude is generally more expensive. Their Gold line plastic beats out ALL other plastics on the market though, really nice stuff.
I just got the Fuse in Gold and Opto and was throwing them in a field last night. They are definitely an understable disc IMO (compared to a Roc, Buzzz, or Wasp - in any plastic). If you don't have much room to move and only have arm motion, they would be perfect as you don't have to put much on them for them to go straight. I'll have to play with them more to have a more sound opinion on them. One thing is for sure regardless...both these plastics feel great in the hand.
Thanks for the replies guys...

I took a few days and the new discs and I gotta say.... These things are nice! The grip on the Opto plastic is sick!

BUT...

The mids are just to close to my Comet, Buzzz, Wasp... (I knew this buying them and didn't expect them to stay in bag because of this)... I will continue to cycle them through my practice bag but not my toruny bag (not yet at least).

I will keep the Halo in for awhile (it seems really close to the Crush)...

The Pure is a nice putter, it's seems to be right in between my Soft Magnets and Challengers...

I'll continue to toss these around and see if I grow into them ...

ps... I love how the thread went to the "Save a Job" thing... that's funny!
Just a little update... the Core is workin pretty freakin good, I'm lovin the plastic!

I showed it to a friend and he says it look like a "Sharper Image" disc..
