The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

He has been playing for 5 months now. I just recently got him a bag. It is my old one but fits around 16-18 disc. I am not going to fill all those out. Most of my disc I have are advanced. I sold all my beginer disc mostly. He is a forehand dominate player. He can throught it about 300 ft dead straight everytime with a teebird. He has a soft magnet putter and skeeter midrange. I signed him up for a tournament sept 13 and 14th. I want to get him several more disc before than. He does not like the leopard it turns to a roller everytime for him. I am willing to pay if you have like a good beginer set you would be willing to sell. If not I am up to suggestions on what to get for him. Thanks!

i love my discraft pro d,or elite z crush it's my favorite sidearm disc i also could throw it when i first started
Get him a buzzz for midrange - it does so many things so well. A Valkyrie should also be a good choice, around 165-168g. A Dragon is also a very good choice - for one thing, it floats, for another it only comes in 150g and it flies very well. The JLS or QJLS in 165-168g should work as well.
me friend has a teedbird like that throws about 300 and loves the z talon i gave him its discontinued if you cant find it try an esp avenger
Wraith Star is best
Sounds like a GOOD beginer! As far as Drivers I'd say Valkyrie, Beast, Sidewinder, possibly an Orc, XL, XS, Orion LF or LS, JLS, Polaris. New co. (well sort of) Latitude 64... Vision, Striker
Fairway.. Tracker, Eagle, TL, Gazelle (if you can find one)
Mids.. Roc (a must imo) Buzzz (another must) Sentinal (slightly ovestable, but a GREAT disc), Core, Classic Roc, Glide, Comet, Panther.
I've been very happy with the Latitude 64 discs in the Opto plastic (think old Innova gummy plastic) As far as the mids. You can cover it all with the Roc, Buzzz, Sentinal and Panther. Those four cover the overstable to understable gammit.

Peace!
hallies right if hes hucking a teebird dead straight 300 ft sounds like he can handle some more overstable stuff. as a forehander i like the force, surge, surge ss, wraith, x cal,r pro boss.
Get him a Star Starfire. I've seen a lot of players make a transition from teebirds to starfires.
160's avenger is what my son likes to use forehand along with a teebird. make sure he has two of his favorite disc just in case. a wraith is another good suggestion.
I have been throwing for 5 years and I still love the teebird. Get him another one! Go with what ya know.
How old is he? What are you trying to achieve by getting him different discs? More D? More accuracy? I'd say if he's throwing 300 feet with a Teebird, he's doing something right. I'd maybe bump him to a Champion Viking or an Orc, or a maybe a SL or a Valkyrie. I'd stay away from the faster, more stable discs for right now., and have him focus on his accuracy, and his short game. I'd buy him several of the same putters, same weight, same plastic, same color even. And at least another Skeeter, same weight and plastic. And definitely get him a few more Teebirds. He already has confidence in the Teebird so he should be able to rip those pretty good. Let us know what you come up with and how he does at his first tourney! And don't forget to join Disc Golf Dads on this site!
If a Teebird/ Magnet/ Skeeter works then stick with it. If you get him new discs he might not get used to them by the time the tourny rolls around. Get him new discs but the same molds, at least to play in the tourny with.

As far a new what else is great to start with.... Innova: Wraith, Orc, Shark, Roc ... Discraft: Avenger, Surge, Wasp, Buzzz

Check out Marshall Street, they have a really useful Flight Guide.
No sence fixing something that aint broken.
