The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

After a long period of development and doing our best to ‘get it right’, we just launched our first iPhone app. It’s free, and you can see it at iTunes, the app store, and our web site at www.skyclock.com.

Skyclock Lite shows you twilight times on an analog clock face, along with sunrise and sunset. The day doesn’t end when the sun goes down. There is more time to disc golf. Knowing how much time you have specifically depends on the date and your location.  It also helps you schedule your glow rounds.

Here are the 12-Hour and 24-Hour display options:

We have a video that explains twilight at our home page www.skyclock.com, and at www.youtube.com/skyclockcompany.

We also have a PC version (not free) with additional features available at our web site.

I want to thank the great guys at A3Disc for allowing me to test a version of Skyclock on their web site. You can see it at their home page www.a3disc.org. We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on this, and on the app itself.

If a club or retailer wants a location-specific version of Skyclock similar to what you see at a3disc.org, let me know. You can reach me through DGRUS or at rob(at)skyclock.com. I’m still doing these for no charge for now, but ask for a link back and a positive mention somewhere. My only limiting factor is the time it may take for additional programming depending on the location - so it may not be right away.

Thanks. Time to Throw!

This is a really great application that has been developed for not only our use as discgolfers, but also for the general population. While I do not have an i-phone, I have been using this app at the a3disc.org site. It is great to be able to make decisions regarding rounds by having this app avaiable. Check it out!
One of the guys I golf with uses this app on his phone. It's cool because we always know if we'll be able to finish the round before it's too dark (not all of us have glow discs). Plus, this guy is a little slow, so if he can use it, anyone can.
