Permalink Reply by David Ledford on July 16, 2011 at 9:13am I also wish I had researched grip techniques back in my younger days. Only since 2009 have I been using the power grip and the X-step. I had a #2 Flyer disc over 15 years ago and I couldn't understand why it had molded ridges on the inside lip. I thought is was for aerodynamics, now I know it was for improved grip lol.
Permalink Reply by Ryan Walker on July 16, 2011 at 10:45am Grip is the most important factor to my game. the reason being purely based on the fact that i get more rotations from the disc with the grip I use. I put the tips of my first 3 fingers on the bottom edge of the brim. not the flat perpendicular angle that most people use. It is more for speed ranges between 7-12 because those are the discs that benifit the most from excessive spin rotations. spin also adds to the glide you will experience with each disc you throw
