The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
My son and I are playing Worlds this year and we decided to drive out. From Colorado. In July. Yea, I know, we might be crazy! I haven't been in the South in a long long time and he has never been there so we figured it might be fun to see some of the countryside. Here is my question. I think we will try to do it in 2 days and I am looking for a spot roughly half way that has some cheap rooms and exceptional golf for a round at dawn before we leave. Somewhere along the north south line around St. Louis - Memphis? We can take I-70, I-64, or I-40. Also, if you know the spot we HAVE to hit that is on some side road not TOO far off the interstate I have no problem with a cool detour. Thanks for the help guys and gals...

Instead of playing at dawn and hitting the road, you could hit the road at down and play at midday, breaking up the long drive. In the end it's the same amount of time, and gives you a wider selection of courses. Only drawback is the heat at midday.

Permalink Reply by Rob Liebman on June 6, 2012 at 6:27pm I thought about the mid day break to stretch etc but then we would be all sweaty for the rest of the day. I am thinking dawn round, back to the room to shower and on the road by 8. Looked at DG review and use it all the time. I was hoping for personal intel. Leaning towards St Louis

Permalink Reply by Socsavvy on June 7, 2012 at 9:51am Some great courses in Missouri, with KC and STL having the biggest, baddest, courses. As for STL, I would suggest playing Sioux Passage or Jefferson Barracks. Endicott is also great, and was Nikko's home course growing up. There are currently a few other championship level courses in the works for the area, but these are the shining stars.
Feel free to ask and I'll be glad to add whatever additional info I can.
