The Southern National Am championship was this past weekend and had a payout of over $31,500 (including a $124 players pack for every player)

Results (and payout) - http://www.sndg.org/stats/event.php/986

All for a $50 entry

of course a year of tournaments that raise money for the event helps a little bit. The SN has a true Players Championship.

Oh, I came home with 21 discs, 5 in the players pack and 16 in my prize pack... for 13th place. No DX and all custom stamped.

Sort of sounds like a "fake" Am event with all that payout... ;-)
Esplain Lucy? Do you mean it's B.S. or some thing else?
Here are some pics from the event.. including pics of the stacks of plastic, haha

Where is this held? I'm making plans to go next year!!!!
Using 'amateur' and 'big payout' in the same sentence should be an oxymoron even though we know that's not uncommon in our sport.
Its somewhere in the south every year, its going to be in Memphis in 2010, but you have to be qualified (its easy, just play an event listed on the tournament schedule on www.sndg.org )
I heard The Southern National Am championship is a non pdga event or series of tournament that are not pdga sanction is that true???
16 discs for 364 dollars? steep prices!
Yep, saves people a lot of money :)

there are a few that are both, but not many at all
factor in the players pack too, had 5 discs in it, tshirt, mini, towel

everything custom stamped
