The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Well yesterday was one of those days when I tried to play but mentally I just wasn't in it. I was going to quit and go home when my friend suggested that we go grab a beer. We went and grabbed a couple micros and returned to the course. My friend asked me if I wanted to play again and I said that I would just walk with him. In the end we joined up with a couple of other people and I ended up throwing his Katana for about 15 holes. I didn't throw anything else. I have been working on that disc for a while now and I believe I learned a lot by only throwing that disc. No distractions from any other plastic.

Has anyone else used this method to learn a disc? Shot after shot with the same disc helped me to figure out the disc. Since I wasn't really going for a score, this was a good ooportunity to learn.

Hell Yeah! The best way to learn how to properly toss any disc is to bring only that disc and a putter, and play an entire round, maybe two. You might even find your score dropping. I have been advocating for some sort of tourney with one disc and a putter (one disc ace race doesn't count) since 1980, and quite frankly, nobody has the balls.
I like it!
I'm in
This past fall Wickham in CT had a one disc tourney. Just one disc, no putter (unless you chose to use a putter as your one disc of course)
Yep!!
Cool way to learn a Disc.
I could use my Buzzz for a single disc round.
no but there is a tourney once a yr in my area called a 1 and done , you choose 1 disc from your bag ,and play , if you lose the disc your done ,hence 1 and done ,
I've never tried it with a driver, but have played many rounds with just one disc. The majority of the time, it was with mids. The few times other than using a mid, was with some fairway driver (AKA: former drivers that no longer go as far as todays drivers). Gee, I wonder if a Valkyrie will be a fairway driver someday?
Not so much to learn a disc but I often play Shark rounds just to keep my upshot skills going. My local courses are all short enough that they become drive and putt and I lose my touch on upshots.
Once every two or three months our league does a one disc night. Some times it's any disc others it's only mid ranges, it switches things up a bit.
