The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I have been thinking and even spoke with Wade on starting an online league of some sort. I decided to start a discussion on this to see how many people would be interested and if anyone had any ideas on how we could put this together. Let me know folks.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure how we'd go about doing that. I did just wake up and haven't had coffee yet.
Online league doing what?
I like the idea. I think for it to work you could have a group of people go to a certain course and divide the league into sections like states are divided into countys and in the group, people could validate other peoples scores. Then you could have some kind of playoff or somthing at the end of the year and have a statewide champ. I think it would be a cool thing to do. Do you think you could have it organized by next year?
playing disc golf.
perhaps look at discgolfscene.com ........... you could set up a league there for sure ........ playing comparable courses would be the criteria ....... and of course comparable divisions ... perhaps by course length and different tees ..... perhaps by state or province ........ then divide into 7 geographic divisons mid up mid down west up west down east up east down and canada ......... bring it on
that is an excellent breakdown from what nick stated, Both great Ideas and I love the Idea of discgolfscene.com. I would like to get together with some of yall in a chat and discuss more details sometime. I am almost always logged in to the chat on the site when I am at my computer. So hit me up and lets talk about it.
You could use the PDGA site for SSA on diff courses that tournaments have been played on throughout the years and use that number as sort of a handicap to compare the courses. I don't know if this would work the best because its a compisite average of all players that played the course but its something. Here is an example. I think these are pro SSA's but i'm not sure.

Layout Holes SSA
Tower Ridge T2 T2 Blu Tees B Pins (D) (2009 Tower Ridge Open) 18 59.00
( http://www.pdga.com/course-ratings-by-tournament?TournID=9079 )

Hiestand Park Short (D) (2009 Mad City Open (Int/Rec/Jr)) 18 48.10

The only problem that I see with ranking the course that way is that not every course is going to be in there. So what would you do for courses that do not have a ranking?
DGU has the ability for you to run an online handicapped league. Players could play at any course and compete head to head.
