The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf
Over the past few years, I have heard complaints from many golfers that the Oshtemo course has fallen into disrepair as far as the garbage situation goes. At Knollwood, we have successfully hosted monthly cleanups and have prevented further apathy toward the park and the same is intended for Oshtemo.
I am currently seeking people that would be willing to volunteer and help organize a monthly cleanup effort at Oshtemo. It is time that the golfers take responsibility for our favorite courses by making them a better place to play. Those that are willing to help, please feel free to talk about it in this forum.
Here is what a good cleanup event entails: Heavy duty garbage bags, enlisting the help of casual groups by giving them bags to fill while golfing, rakes, shovels, wheel barrows (necessary mostly for glass cleanup only). Also, I find that people are more willing to help when there's a free lunch, so I usually get some hot dogs, buns, condiments, and bottled water.
Thank you for your interest, lets get Oshtemo up to a higher standard!

If I lived on that side of the state I would be all over helping clean up this park. I have played it 2 times and it is a blast to play. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the amount of trash. I give you great props for stepping up and cleaning up our great courses!
