What do you suggest that will start pretty good out of the box and then as it beats become your goto roller disc?

The Vision by Latitude 64, Roadrunner, Sidewinder...can't think of a Discraft disc, but I'm sure they have one.
avenger ss. but old se valks are the best roller i've ever thrown.
stratus
fore hand rollers, buzzz back hand stratus
I'll second the Stratus roller.
Thanks.
Avenger SS without a doubt my best roller and starts out quite understable so should be good to go right away.
Nah man, these discs are not the best out of the box rollers. The charts don't lie and the Innova Roadrunner, monarch, and wolf are by far the best out of the box rollers. I use a roller as one of my primary shots and have rolled the roadrunner and monarch over 500 ft. The secret is to look at your thumbnail... don't get the disc out there too far, you want to snap it into the ground within the first 40 ft. I like the roadrunner the best of the 3. the wolf is a great disc as well because it doubles as a approach disc. The monarch is better for s turns but is a great roller out of the box. I found that the 175 monarch rolls better than my 166 but my 167 roadrunner rolls farther than my 176. Remember that the disc will roll over on the heavy side so for max distance you need to roll it in a slight s shape!
Avenger SS! I have an ESP, and the first shot I threw with it rolled farther then any shot I had done before it (seriously... not just a plug). any plastic should work except FLX... the flx version changes the stability of this disc completely.
I have just started throwing a Star Max for forehand rollers, and it holds a nice straight line for longer than other roller discs I've tried. Give it a try!
some of the discs talked about here are understable and if thrown into a headwind are going to turnover very early (for my style at least). i would experiment with a variety of discs in differant wind conditions. remember champ,z, and other high grade plastic will not break in fast if at all.
How do you guys feel about the XL as a roller?
